Part of the d'Or Hotels group, the Punta del Mar Hotel is a 3 star hotel located in a rocky headland in the Costa de la Calma neighbourhood, exactly in the Es Castellet urbanisation. Built in 1988 and renovated during 2004, the hotel consists of a building with 186 rooms, including 33 apartments, distributed over 7 floors.

Rooms come all with air conditioning system (or heating, depending on the season) and equipped en suite bathroom with shower, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, safe box available ( available at an additional charge) and either terrace or balcony facing the sea.

Food is served on their air conditioned restaurant and accommodation can be booked bed & breakfast, half board or full board, depending on your preferences.

Leisure facilities include a swimming pool with a waterfall and a separate children's pool, a pool bar, a sun terrace with deck chairs and parasols, pool and table tennis tables. During autumn and winter, guest can also use the indoor heated pool and the solarium.

Other guest facilities available include a foyer with 24 hour reception service and a safe, currency exchange desk, lifts, a cafetería, TV lounge, a games room and an Internet terminal point.

As for sports and entertainment, the Hotel Punta del Mar provides a programme of daytime sporting activities including aerobics and archery . And during the evening the hotel runs live music, cabaret and shows several times a week.

Stayed at this hotel twice a year for the last four years.

Everything about it is first class, views are something else, staff and management are helpful, food good and the sunset from dinning room is breath taken.

We stayed in this hotel for one week before we went on a weeks cruise.

We found hotel to be very clean, food nice, entertainment could have been better. Lovely views from our balcony out over the bay. Swimming pool very good nice and clean.

Would go back again even if it is a bit of a walk to town. It was 2008 June when we where there.

Stayed at the hotel twice.

Very good choice of food, rooms nice and clean, staff very nice and helpful, but found the german people quite rude.

But would go back as like the set up of the hotel.

Fantastic food, good staff, good view, breathtaking.

Nip down to Shenanigan's in the square, Brian & Wendy are just the perfect host's. Back next year .

Just got back from a 2 week stay at Punta del Mar and we could fault it in any way.

Fantastic views all around, food was excellent, always something different each night. Rooms were basic but maid 7 times a week so very kept clean.

About a 15 minute walk into center of Santa Ponsa but plenty of bars and restaurants on the way. Be warned though, Majorca isn't a cheap place to go anymore, so take plenty.

Definitely would go back again. Lastly, reception staff extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel was lovely. Too far up hill, had to walk to get to places.

It was a bad week of rain not so good. If the hotel was on low level it would be good, too far to walk up hill. My husband had a minny stoke and he couldn't walk far.

The food was good, lovely view form the room. Might go one day again.

My wife and I stayed in the Punta del Mar last year and we had a great time.

The rooms where nice and clean, the food excellent and the view was breath taking. There was all ways something to do, you never get bored.

We will be back again this year . We are looking forward to our holiday there again, this is the place to unwind.

Stayed at the punta del mar in July '05, had a great stay.

The rooms were lovely, bright and airy, particularly liked the set up of one front door leading into small passage way to our two rooms, one mine and hubby's and the other our two teenage daughters'. All rooms had a beautiful view looking out over the bay.

The food was excellent and the entertainment programme; particularly during the day was very good, the entertainment guy was very funny. Evening entertainment OK, but must, must check out The Auld Triagle for live music and the handsome Irish guy Kevin on his guitar.

Another plus for us was no getting up at the crack of dawn in the race for a sun lounger. Going again this summer.
