Part of Iberostar group of hotels, the Suites Jardin del Sol is an only for adults hotels, which means no children under 14 are allowed. Located at around 800 metres from the Santa Ponsa beach, in the Costa de la Calma neighbourhood, the hotel is built partially in to the cliff and has breathtaking views over the bay.

Built in 1983 and renovated during 2001, what before was an apartments complex has become now with this refurbishing one of the few "only suites" hotels. The complex offers a total of 236 rooms, including 194 suites and a further 42 junior suites, built over 8 floors and surrounded by gardens.

Junior Suites at the Jardin del Sol come all equipped with complete bathroom with shower, hydro massage & hairdryer, Jacuzzi, sitting room, Wireless Internet, air conditioning/heating, mini bar, telephone, satellite TV with music channels and a safe box (at an additional charge). Suites also have an extra bedroom.

Guest facilities at the hotel include a 24 hours reception with currency exchange service, lobby with panoramic views, restaurant with terrace, cafeteria and bar, satellite TV room, hairdresser’s, pool bar, laundry service, car and bicycle rental (at a charge).

Among the Panoramic restaurant, the cocktail bar and the cafeteria, the hotel has an All Inclusive option running which includes buffet style breakfast, buffet style lunch and dinner, soft drinks, water, beer, national and international alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks until midnight.

Leisure facilities include a large outdoor free form swimming pool and furnished sun terraces, as well as an outdoor Jacuzzi, pool towel service (a small deposit is required), fitness room, Tai-Chi and Q-Gong, aqua aerobics and at additional supplement a small indoor salted pool.

Additionally, the Spa and Health Centre Jardin del Sol offers all kinds of bath therapy, massage and Thai Zen therapy, saunas, Turkish baths, massage cabins, shower jet and underwater massage baths among others. Please note that this services may incur in extra charges.

The hotel is nearby many golf courses and tee-times can be arranged at reception, as well as many other sports such as water-skiing, windsurfing or scuba diving.

I arrived late afternoon for a 7 day stay in September 2009. For registration it was required to complete a two page computer friendly form. I ignored most questions and for privacy and security reasons only gave information detailed on my passport. There was no porter service.

I can confirm comments of other Reviews regarding the bedroom, cramped toilet space, walls not sound proof, hard beds, TV with only two English speaking channels CNN and Euro Sport, empty minibar and a choice of a 5 option package 11-26 EUR, no tea and coffee making facilities, room night safe 14.20 EUR pw.

The staff all seemed to speak English and many guests were British. I found the hotel bureaucratic and it could be more user friendly. The restaurant was self service buffet probably above average but after four days became boring. There is no a la carte restaurant. Prices for drinks and lunch snacks were reasonable.

The see views and sun bathing are excellent. The hotel has a generous 4 star rating.The attraction of Santa Ponsa is its close proximately to Palma Airport.

Most beautiful Hotel I have seen. Views to die for. Food, service and staff excellent.

Could do with more entertainment. Must be seen!

Had a great holiday here in the summer with a few friends. Told to be quiet but can understand that. Hotel and surroundings were really nice as was the pool area.

We found a cafe bar on the hill going into town called Teazers, Irene & Dougie were brilliant. Scottish Breakfast to die for, steaks and pies were delicious.

We will be back next year so see you then.

The nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, all needs are catered for.

The food was fantastic as was the service and the staff.
