Formerly managed by the Hotels Viva chain, the Costa Portals Hotel is located in in the centre and tourist area of Puerto Portals, at only 150 metres from the beach and 800 metres from the Bendinat Golf course. Refurbished during 2002, the Costa Portals hotel features 93 guestrooms distributed across 2 buildings.

All rooms at the Costa Portals Hotel come equipped with with air conditioning or heating, satellite TV, safe box, telephone, complete bathroom and either balcony or terrace overlooking the swimming pool or the mountains.

Both breakfasts and diner are server in buffet style at their restaurant, called "Thalassa", consisting in a selection of cold and warm specialities.

Hotel facilities include a 24 hour reception with currency exchange service, lift, lounge bar, public Internet access and bike or car rental available on request.

Outdoors guest can enjoy a freshwater swimming pool with terrace area, pool side snack bar and solarium with hammocks and parasols.

From their website: Because of its characteristics the hotel focuses on client looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay. It is not suitable for families and children.

The hotel was not fully refurbished as per the hotel advertising. When we went in June the hotel was filled with Belgian cyclists.

The bar was un-staffed most afternoons due to a shortage of staff. However the staff on duty were excellent, but run off their feet, even in june.

The intercom/musak piped into the public rooms was very loud and inappropriate. Despite being asked (in Spanish) many times the volume always returned to its high level.

We have been here before and enjoyed it, but never again !!!

Having just returned home from this hotel [17 June 09] I would like to inform future guests of the following.

Our first three days were just what we were looking for, peace and quite, until told by the management that fifty teenage students would be taking over the first and second floors as it turned out they took over the swimming pool restaurant lounge area.

Although there was no trouble as such we certainly felt intimidated. Seemingly this is a normal occurrence for the middle two weeks in June but the public is not told of this on they're website.

So anyone booking this hotel in June be warned. Also there is no warning that it is situated on a hill so if you are not very fit avoid it.
