The 3 star Pollentia Hotel is located amongst gardens right in front of the Pollensa beach, facing the Puerto Pollensa bay and only 500 metres from the resort's centre.

All of the 70 rooms at the Pollentia Beach Hotel come equipped with bathroom with shower, heating system depending on the season, and balcony or terrace facing either the garden or the sea (please note, not all of them, better if you ask first), telephone and safe box (extra charge).

Guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast in the restaurant or have a light snack in the cafeteria. The hotel also offers, as usual, a 24 hour reception with car rental and currency exchange.

While there is no swimming pool, guest are welcome to use the swimming pools and sport facilities at the neighbouring Hotel Uyal, also from the Hotelera Pollensina chain.

Both the Pollentia and its neighbour the Hotel Uyal run a seasonal entertainment programme with live music and shows.

If you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday then Pollensa is for you - I was at Alcudia got the bus into Puerta Pollensa which was nice but too quiet for me, not too busy and ideal for young children and the elderly.

Stayed last August and thought hotel was great, just what I wanted.

The hotel is situated at the quiet end of Pollensa and is about 10 min stroll to the main town. Loads of great restaurants nearby and the square in the town is lively and buzzing in the evening.

Food was lovely although we only really had breakfast at the hotel, staff were lovely and the rooms practical and clean. We booked last minuet so didn't get a choice of room. Ours was on the side of the hotel but we could still look out at the sea, rooms on the front of hotel with sea views looked lovely.

The hotel doesn't have a pool but you can use the pool of it's sister hotel just down the road if you want, not having a pool meant that there wasn't really many children staying in the hotel, so if you're looking for more of an adult atmosphere it will suit. The beach is just across the road and again very clean and quiet even though it was August.

We loved this hotel and will definitely go back again, we had a very relaxing stay.

Not all the rooms have a terrace or balcony. I was booked into a single-very small room facing the rear.

NOT a garden view. Small window and no balcony. Room was on top floor, the 4th, and the hotel's air conditioning unit is sited in the roof space directly above. This causes a constant noise akin to a noisy car engine running non -stop! I Had to get a change of room as I couldn't sleep for the noise.

Also as I was staying on my own I was refused a table for dinner on the terrace as the tables are only for 2 or more guests.

I have complained to Thomson's about both issues and I am waiting to hear from the company.

I was very disappointed and would avoid this hotel in future.
