I was there twice for 2 weeks, the last in 2002, and I have been in a lot of hotels since and none can compare with the TROPICO which had everything and i'm looking forward to going back there this year.
Cathy from Ireland, August 31, 2009 10:26 PM
Stayed in Tropico Playa on 2 occasions and really enjoyed it.
Staff very friendly and very helpful. Food lovely also. Location brilliant. Rooms very clean.
Will be back again.
Dave from Swansea, August 1, 2009 8:50 AM
The food was average , if you went after 8-30 in evening there was very little left, the pool was terrible very small with room for no more than 40 people, staff were excellent , location superb, evening entertainment was the usual you would expect .
Sandra Flynn from Coleraine Northen Ireland , July 31, 2009 10:53 PM
Stayed in this hotel back in 2006.
Staff was very helpfull, close to the beach and shops, the pool was ok but with no supervision from parents. Children were jumping into the pool, one child pushed another child out of a dinky and the child could not swim.
The other point I have is to get to the pool, you have to climb about 20 stairs. Not good for a disabled person who cannot walk much, but if you look at some reports they dont tell you that, even travel agencies dont tell you that. That is the only 2 points I have about the hotel, otherwise they would move heaven and earth for you and the shops would do the same, but one side of the street was unsuitable for wheelchairs as trees grow in middle of footpaths.

We stayed in this hotel in July for 2 weeks; and had the best holiday ever!!
The food was very nice and something different to choose from every night! Entertainment was brilliant for children.
Hotel just facing the beach; we loved it so much we are going back in July again!
Maureen Smith from Liverpool, March 15, 2009 5:55 PM
We stayed at the Tropico for a week. If we had known how lovely it was, we would of stayed a fortnight.
The staff are very friendly, and the head waiter in the restaurant is a scream. The food we thought, could of been just a bit better, but on the whole we enjoyed our stay, and will be going back deffo.

This hotel is absolutely great!
The staff were the friendliest staff I have come across and the entertainment excellent!!!
Food was delicious and the pool was wonderful to relax in! (best time to swim is after 6 o clock when you can relax quietly without the bustle of the kids).
i would like to say a BIG hello to CHICO (also known as Cyril) a member of staff at the hotel. He is always happy, always sings while working and makes me laugh!
Will be returning soon to this wonderful hotel soon!!!
anonymous. xx

Mr G Cook & family from Doncaster, October 22, 2008 3:08 AM
Just returned from 14 nights at the Tropico.
I am sorry but anyone who rates this hotel less than 5 is either a snob or shouldn't be going on package holidays.
The hotel was very clean, the staff all very helpful and friendly, the location second to none and the weather was fantastic.
Have already booked to return next year and in all honesty wish I could afford to live there!!!!
Vaughn & Linda Tanner from Bristol, October 15, 2008 5:27 PM
We have just returned from our two weeks in the Tropico and I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays we have ever had.
The hotel staff, food ,rooms were great only one problem is the bin men waking you up at 7 am, but never the less.
A great location plenty of bars and restaurants plus lots of shops, every one we met were friendly and had stayed before, can't wait to return.
Alan & Anne Stevens from Creswell, Worksop, England, September 10, 2008 4:19 PM
Well what can we say, about the hotel, staff, food, location, everything is 100%,
This was our 3rd time on the 30/8/08, in room 402. Will you pass our kind regards to: Seona, Julia, Vicky, the reception staff they are the best we have ever met in the hotels we have been to (back again in September 2009).
Your restaurant staff are so helpful, the food is very good to meet all types of meals.
It as been a fantastic holiday again and cant wait to return and see you all again, it is a joy to stay in this hotel. When we left at
2.00am we did not see Seona, Julia, Vicky,to give them how kind regards for their help, please pass on our thanks.
Yours Anne & Alan

Best hotel, especially the waiters - " i love you "
Gemma Johnston from London, August 27, 2008 8:48 PM
I would 100% recommend the Tropico.
We had a great time, the food was good and the staff were lovely.
My only problem was not enough sun round the pool but who needs the pool when you have the beach on your door.
Peter O Keeffe from London, August 22, 2008 5:14 PM
Had a lovely time at the resort.
Good food very clean, friendly staff great location. Only problem is that there are door lock for each room inside and terrace was not child proof, my 2 year old was able to open the doors, which was a worry. Safety chanes could be fitted to the door.
I would consider going back next year
Pam from Huddersfield, August 10, 2008 1:53 PM
We have stayed at the Tropico Playa hotel for a couple of times now and cannot fault anything there, from the staff on reception to the cleaning ladies who all do a tremendous job.
We shall be returning there in the near future.
Brian from Wolverhampton, August 4, 2008 9:49 AM
We just come back after staying at this hotel.
The food was good, the room was very clean and the staff was friendly but there is no where for children to go to play. Instead they are playing in the lifts all day.
Also people are going for evening meals in shorts and swimming gear which I disagree with it. Also says no towels on sun beds around the pool until 8 am but they was going on at any time after 6:30 am. If they make rules they should stick to them.
I will not be returning there again.
Gerd Naydock from Wynnewood PA, USA, July 9, 2008 12:41 AM
I stayed at this hotel for 3 days back in 1980 while on shore leave and thoroughly loved it.
At that time the rooms were fantastically clean and comfortable, the food buffet of great variety and quality. One could also get a nice selection of wine to take to dinner. Very convenient to the beach as well.
When I was visiting there, the hotel guests were primarily British and Danes and I recall even some dancing. Never saw a bidet in a bathroom before this experience. What a fantastic memory!!!
I hope it's just as nice 28 years later. If so, I'll be back.
Anne & Alan Stevens from Worksop, Nott's, June 21, 2008 9:08 PM
It's now getting closer to our holiday for 2008, and it's to the Tropico Playa again for the 3rd time.
This is a fantastic hotel, right on the beach good food, very clean, well looked after by the staff. The lady called Julia I think she is the manager, she was excellent, most helpful, and she is a credit to this hotel.
My wife and I would not go to any other hotel in Palma Nova, Majorca.
Please pass on our kindest regards to all at Tropico Playa.
Thank you Anne & Alan
D Smith from Liverpool, May 18, 2008 8:38 PM
We just come back after a week in this great hotel, the staff were the best, rooms immaculate, there's loads of "fors" but there were a few downs sides too.
I thought the food could of been a little better, and if you like gravy with your meal, well there was none all week, chips with everything, and no dress code at dinner, which I was a bit disappointed with that, as we always get dressed nice for our evening meal, while others were allowed to wear shorts or jeans.
Apart from that the hotel is really lovely, enjoy your stay.
Sheila Campbell from Donaghadee, April 2, 2008 8:37 PM
Call me easy pleased if you want, but I love this hotel.
Brilliant situation, friendly staff, very clean and comfortable.
Next time there will be my 7th or 8th visit. Lush!!!
The Bould family from Stoke-on-Trent, March 30, 2008 10:48 PM
We have been to this hotel twice now and cannot wait to go back.
The staff are very friendly, the food is fine, rooms clean and comfortable and the view from our room was fantastic.
Malcolm Trueman from Derby, January 30, 2008 3:20 PM
Excellent location for beach which is literally across the road from hotel. Ideal for all local amenities. Food very good and the staff very good.
Jane from Berkshire from Bracknell, November 21, 2007 7:10 PM
Had a good time.
Nice hotel, very clean and food excellant. Across the road from beach.
Helen from Manchester, October 8, 2007 7:50 PM
Great hotel & staff excellent very friendly.
Food okay. I didn't see my children for 2 weeks, they had a great time by the pool although the pool is small.
Mattocks Family from Lancashire, October 8, 2007 7:39 PM
We all had a brilliant time!
All the staff are great and food OK.
Will definitely go back next year!!!!
Entertainment for kids through the day was excellent.
Helen Hopkinson from Coventry, October 3, 2007 4:11 PM
Hotel was very clean, but the early morning noise was bad, the price of the drinks was a rip off and the entertainment was appalling: you cannot enjoy 14 nights of BINGO.
Won't be going back there.
Aysha from Oxford, September 30, 2007 8:25 PM
Absolutely fantastic!
I could recommend this hotel to anyone! The staff are so friendly, the food is fantastic!!
This is a high quality hotel!!!!
Mr Milner from Hereford, September 16, 2007 7:09 PM
Well, what can I say.
Good points were the position of the hotel, the staff were good and polite, and rooms were clean and tidy.
Bad points, food was not good at all, this is a family hotel but the food wasn't very kids friendly, no beans in the evening at all, kids love beans, we were there 2 weeks and only had fish fingers and chicken nuggets once, the bread rolls were like hand grenades.
There are far too many tables for the size of the dining room, we were always banging other people when leaving the table.
There was one 21" tv in the entire hotel, sometimes it's nice to sit in your room and watch tv, but not here,
the pool was way to small for the size of the hotel,
although the two lads behind the bar were great they were constantly running out of drinks. And 3 euros for their cheap pint of lager is a complete rip off.
Sorry but we won't be going back.
S. Singleterry from Downham Market, September 14, 2007 7:17 PM
Fantastic Holiday.
Great location as hotel is only 50 metres from beach. Hotel extremely clean all round, Staff very helpful couldn't do enough for you, air-con fantastic, food good but could be better.
We are booking now for a return next year.
J G Grace from Dublin, September 13, 2007 4:38 PM
Best location in Palma Nova.
Good basic accommodation with Air Con. Food OK.
Bar entertainment (free) each night, reasonable prices for drink. Helpful staff - 24hr. service
Heather O'Sullivan from Belfast, July 9, 2007 7:54 PM
Just returned from a 2nd fabulous holiday at this hotel.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean, childrens entertainment is excellent... I never saw them the whole holiday. Staff are extremely friendly and could not do enough for you. It is very well located as it is just accross the road from the beach.
However, the downside would be that the food is 'okay' and the beds are hard. Despite this an excellent holiday was had and I will consider going back for a 3rd time.
Debbie Hayward from Bristol, July 8, 2007 11:30 AM
June 2007: we have just returned for the 2nd time at Hotel Tropico.
Facilities are excellent and the hotel is 50 metres from the beach, you couldn't wish for a better location. Food very good, very tidy and clean hotel and the service was excellent.
We have just returned and have already booked for next year.
Tracy Belben from Dorset , England, June 13, 2007 8:17 PM
