Stayed in the Tobago in may 2009 for 5 days.
Hotel was clean and tidy but the food was awful!! ate out most of the time.
No entertainment whatsoever but the hotel wasn't even a quarter fool. Good location right across from the beach and lovely sea views from the balcony.
Hotel could do with a revamp tho as its a bit dated looking. Hotel staff not the most helpful.
We usually go to Majorca for a few days each April/May and this is the worst hotel we've stayed in.
Def wont be back.
Tony Jennings from Liverpool, April 20, 2009 2:25 PM
My wife and I have stayed at the Tobago six times.
Food on a par with other 3 Stars I have stayed in, rooms always clean with daily changes for towels etc, staff always helpful, location could not be better with beach 50 metres away and Magaluf 5 minutes walk.
What more could you want?
Karilyne Parks from London, March 17, 2009 2:42 PM
Stayed for two nights in November last year - thank god no longer for the food was awful and the hotel seemed very tacky - really would not recommend this hotel unless last resort!!
Sandra Smiles from Edinburgh, March 15, 2009 1:27 PM
I agree with Alex McGinn from Glasgow, the food was disgusting. After paying for half board we ended up eating out 4 days out of 5. Which made it an expensive holiday.
Janet Whiteley from Sheffield South Yorkshire, February 18, 2009 4:16 PM
By far the WORST hotel we have every had the misfortune to stay in.
The food was diabolical, the rooms were very unclean and the public areas a disgrace.
We would not recommend this hotel to our worst enemy. PLEASE don't go there!!!!!
Pauline from Brandon, Suffolk, February 13, 2009 8:26 PM
Just got back from the Tobago Hotel.
The room was fine. The selection was poor and the so called 'hot food'on the buffet was always cold.
I would not return.
Mrs Mattison from England, December 5, 2008 9:19 PM
Was very surprised to see bad reviews of this hotel. I've stayed here about fours times over the years, and when I first booked this hotel, it was known for the good food it provided.
I can honestly say it never let me down on that score. The rooms were very clean, and the staff very helpful. If you want 5* treatment then pay for it and go elsewhere. Because I've stayed in worse four stars than the Tobago.
If I had one niggle about the hotel it would be pool not big enough, but the beach is directly over the road. It's in a very good location.

Hi we've just returned from staying at the hotel Tobago and it was great value for money.
The rooms were clean and towels changed daily. The pool was clean and had a life guard at all times. The location of the hotel was spot on a 2 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to the town. It was not a hotel for children as it's mostly groups of males or females. The food was fine with plenty to choose from.
A value for money hotel.

Pig swill is only way you can describe the food in THAT Hotel? Would not feed to a pig!
Rubbery eggs>>>Cold...YES there is a microwave... but food by law when hot should be served hot!... This hotel would be closed down by health authorities here!
The Mirror Wall down in the Bar is a utter mess.
Yes its cheap, but had far better food at other 3star hotels.

Stayed in hotel for two weeks in March, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Good food, friendly staff, good access to all amenities, professional security team on the premises. Felt content and secure.
Will recommend and return.

Stayed there for a clubbing holiday early September 2007.
Bedrooms were nothing special but fine for sleeping and spending the rest of the day and night out. Couldn't work T.V. but wasn't too bothered. The staff tried to change towels every day but often I was still in bed so they were unable.
Always something to eat for dinner even if didn't like chosen special menu that night always some type of burger or chicken and chips.
The pool was nice and easy walk to beach or local restaurants and bars during the day, and close enough to the main strip for an easy walk during the night, but far enough away couldn't hear a lot of noise when you got home.

Stayed in the Tobago Nov 2007. Came back with a tan, hotel good, food good, plenty of choice and going again April 2008.
Rooms cleaned daily, fresh towels. What I did like the most about the food were the fresh prawns, mussels etc.
It's a cheap break situated in a nice area, a 5 minute walk away from beach, and 10 minutes from Magaluf, which also was a beautiful beach.
I will say that in November it's the Spanish holidays for the elderly and this hotel at that time was crammed with them , and at times was a babble but everyone is entitled to a holiday.
Mr &Mrs Thomas from Warrington, February 13, 2008 8:40 PM
Cannot understand some of the above comments. We stayed for five nights from 08-02-08 and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Staff were very helpful at all times, room was excellent and cleaned daily (ok, TV was poor, but we don't go away to watch TV).
Food was excellent, varied choice and all cooked and presented to a very high standard. If anyone cannot make a good meal from what was available then I think the problem is with themselves. My wife and I really enjoyed our dining at this hotel. I just hope more people make the effort to thank the chefs, as we did (language permitting, though that is our problem too).
In all, we cannot fault this hotel on price or service and will definately be returning.
Graham and Pauline Clegg. from Manchester. England., February 6, 2008 12:09 PM
Hi there,
We stayed for ten days in January 08, the hotel was excellent value for what we paid.
The hotel was clean and tidy. The beds were made daily and sheets and towels changed daily. There was a good choice of food, both hot and cold, and a good choice of sweets.
Whilst we were there the chef and waiters gave an excellent service 100% of the time.
The beach was about 100 yards from the
hotel entrance,just across the road.
However the television was only CNN,Sky One and Sky Sports, and the entertainment was not too good, and they don't serve coffee with the evening meal.
5 Star it was not, but it is only a 3 Star hotel, and I have stayed in worse 4 star hotels.
Would we go back....?..........Yes. More than likely later in the year.
Debbie Parr from Swansea, October 13, 2007 11:05 PM
We stayed in the hotel for 8 days in October.
The hotel is shabby and in need of decoration. We complained on the second day about a terrible smell in the corridor and were told it was damp and nothing could be done.
The choice of food was awful, as long as you like chips you were OK, and that included at breakfast.
The staff were unhelpful and surly. It was our first and definitely our last visit.
Keith Thornton from Barnsley S. Yorkshire, October 3, 2007 10:20 AM
Just returned from a week (Sept. 07) at Hotel d,Or Tobago.
Enjoyed every minute: good choice of food, towels changed and bed made every day...
Stayed here before AND will again. Staff very friendly
Alex McGinn from Glasgow, September 30, 2007 5:48 PM
Just got back from a long weekend break in Sept. Stayed at the Tobago for the first time and it will be our last.
We were told all rooms had a sea view but our room had a tree view. We were at the back of the hotel. Asked at reception for another room only to be told it is not possible.
The food was disgusting and not fit for a dog. We had breakfast in a place across the road. And our evening meal out also. It turned out to be an expensive weekend considering we were half board.
We will definitely not be back to this hotel.
Mrs Mcenroe from Glasgow, June 4, 2007 1:19 PM
Food was cold. Beds and towels not changed as they should be and was very noisy at night, which should have been sorted out. After all, we all go for a good time and to relax.
Kelly from London, May 22, 2007 12:40 PM
Terrible......very disappointing and certainly won't be going back.
