Part of the Sol Melia hotel chain, the 4 star Melia Palas Atenea hotel is located along the Paseo Maritimo seafront promenade, with views over the marina and Palma's Bay and only 1 kilometre away from the shopping center and the old town and its Cathedral. Built in 1974 Refurbished during 2000, the hotels has 361 rooms, including 8 junior suites, built over 4 floors.

All rooms at the Melia Palas Atenea Hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated, according to season, and come equipped with en-suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, pillow menu, interactive satellite TV with Canal +, finance channel and pay-per-view movies, 2 direct dial telephone lines with fax and modem connection, wireless Internet connection (at an additional charge), 24 hours room service, piped music, mini-bar, electronic safe box and either a balcony or terrace. Three bedded rooms are available on request, as well as some rooms adapted to people with disabilities.

An extensive breakfast buffet is served from 7.30 am to 10.30 am, while for lunch and dinner guest have 2 restaurants at their disposal: the buffet-style Diana Restaurant with sea-views and the a la carte Restaurant El Laurel.
