Just got back from Sol Chihuahuas, food brilliant, entertainment brilliant, apart from Elvis nite seen better in me local.
Hotel very clean, staff fantastic, nice little beaches and coves. Me and the wife well enjoyed it, would go again, for what we paid was a bargain .... go and enjoy.

Just got back from a week in Calas de Mallorca Resort, hotel Sol Mastines.
My boyfriend and I had a great time. We had a sea view room, was beautiful waking up to the sun shining in on our balcony!
The entertainment was good, the staff work a lot of hours and still are always smiling!
The rooms were a bit dated, but were always cleaned well, after all they are only for sleeping & getting washed in! The grounds are also always being cleaned.
Quite a good range of food to choose from, if you do get bored of it, there was plenty places to eat out not far from the hotel.
Overall... was a great holiday!
Katy, age 10 from Essex, October 31, 2010 8:20 PM
The Hotel, Food, Staff, Sea view, Rooms etc is brilliant, every thing is great. We go to the same hotel every year and each year gets better and better every year!
The entertainment is terrific and kids clubs to the age of 13, 14!!
Also there is a bar in town called Barlock run by Jose and that is also brilliant
Would recommended this hotel to all age's.
I love it!!

The hotel is clean and the staff work hard and are friendly enough if you treat them with respect.
There are more than adequate facilities and things to do, especially if you are willing to venture away from the resort on the buses which run from right outside the hotel. They are not expensive.
The food buffet offers a fair choice and was always very well presented, frequently replenished and the restaurant staff are very efficient.
There are some cats that live on the beach path to the side of the hotel but there is no cat mess that I saw on the hotel grounds, as commented on by one reviewer. It is a clean hotel.
Please buy the cats some cat food if you do visit!
Wonderful views from the balconies and more than adequate fan for the bedroom.
Mags Johnston from Belfast, May 19, 2010 1:47 PM
Enjoyed the holiday.
Thought scenery was lovely, hotel staff was not too friendly, in fact were often rude.
Disappointed there was no TV in room but would go again.
C Mc Guire from Glasgow, April 4, 2010 9:47 AM
I visited this hotel in Sept 09.
After reading the reviews I was weary about how good the hotel was going to b,e and it was OK for myself and my 1yr old son.
Plenty of things to do and the local bus service is fantastic and cheap.
Would defo go back.
Martyn and Ross from Burton on Trent, October 22, 2009 8:34 AM
We stayed in the SOL Mastines and would not go back to this resort.
The views from the room were excellent; the rooms were well cleaned with the maids appearing to be the only friendly members of staff.
The Restaurant is plagued with flies and Staff display a total lack interest; the food is bland and barely warm, with long queues for food and drinks.
The Bar Staff also appear to show a lack of interest with long queues for drinks.
There are insufficient chairs for outside seating with the resulting scramble every evening. Following a recent storm the Piano Bar had suffered flooding yet there appeared to be no attempt to dry the carpets and furniture from which gave off a strong musty smell.
I returned home with a stomach virus!
Sarah from Derby, October 18, 2009 11:51 AM
Worst holiday we have ever had.
The food was that bad I refused to eat it. It wasn't cooked properly and gave me an upset tummy. There was nothing to do and the nitelife was crap.
The hotel smelt fusty and dirty.
I would never go back there again, the place wants closing down.
Haslett J C from Newport SW, September 29, 2009 8:11 PM
Possibly the worst experience I have ever endured.
Food is absolutely disgusting (and dangerous). My partner being laid up for a significant part of the holiday with food poisoning.
The first room offered to us was a cupboard, not even a mirror, the fan was hanging off the ceiling and looked likely to drop off and gnaw its way through us at some point during the night. We complained and were transferred to a suite (£150 extra) which on the surface looked better... until it rained, most of which came through the ceiling!
Entertainment was 5th class to be generous, and the staff were curt and unhelpful. Take my advice... dont bother!!. To be fair the views were very good but there again the hotel management had no control over that.
Stephanie from Glasgow, August 26, 2009 9:48 PM
Spent a week all inclusive at this hotel from 18th of Aug 2009.
No aircon at all in rooms. We had to pull the beds out into the middle of the room under a small fan to keep cool and leave our balcony door open which resulted in a lizard coming into our room, maids didnt change our towels or empty our bins at all even after we requested this a few times.
The food was disgusting and the same things everynight. The snacks from 9pm to 11pm were left over dinner. The staff were very ignorant and not friendly.
For a big hotel there were only 2 lifts and they were very slow. The carpets were torn and I tripped over them a few times, also fell in reception because of slippy floor and two staff actually laughed.
The all inclusive drink was shocking, the soft drinks ie cola and fanta were flat and the not much choice on alcohol either.
The entertainment was mostly for children and any adult entertainment was in Spanish.
The only thing this hotel has going for it is the view. The view was beautiful and very quiet at night.
Murphy family from Birmingham, August 13, 2009 3:45 PM
Good hotel, large rooms, lots of space. Outdoor pools great and not overcrowded. Indoor pool freezing and not heated as advertised. Be prepared to get up at 7.30 to save chairs around the pool. Kids 12 and over are expected to board as adults and this was an unexpected expense as travel agency had got out son's date of birth wrong upon booking!
No noise anywhere so perfect for families. Great views from Mastines but no tele in rooms. If you go please feed local stray cats with a tin of food - poor moggies.
Mick from Norwich, July 29, 2009 10:39 PM
I went in 1981 it was fantastic back then.
Love to go back one day.
Barney from Kent, July 27, 2009 11:30 AM
I went to Sol Mastines at the beginning of July for a week and I had a fabulous time. The main swimming pool is huge and brilliant, the rooms are spacious and the food was pretty good.
Downsides is no air con in rooms or as you enter the building, and lifts were very claustrophobic as no air and very small. Also if you're high up, I was on floor 10, then it's a little scary but nevertheless u get the views!!
But awesome views, of pool and sea, and overall a very good hotel! :)
Sam from Aberdeen, June 7, 2009 2:30 AM
Spent 2 wks in this hotel from 9th - 23rd of may.
Large rooms with a brilliant sea view! My little boy who's 4 went into the kids clubs which were excellent. 15 min sea view walk 2 a cove beach. No complaints about the food! The entertainment was for all ages and the entertainment staff were fantastic!!!
Already planning a return holiday for next year!
Tim from Co, Tyrone, May 31, 2009 6:52 PM
We holidayed end of may and found the hotel was very good, staff very helpfull and meals excellent. Everything for a relaxing week which we had, bus stop at front door if you want too go further afield, also abundance of swimming pools for all ages.
Will go back again.
Vicky from Cumbria, May 27, 2009 6:56 PM
Just got back from 2 weeks away in this hotel. The hotel was big and bedrooms have plenty of room. You get a good viev of the sea, with a 20 min walk to the beach. The entertainment staff were excellent!!
Would definatly go back.
Mrs Milne from Aberdeen, March 1, 2009 8:52 PM
Best view ever from hotel balcony. The people in the town bars are lovely.
Have been three times at Mastines and are heading for there in may this year 2009.
Si from Isle of Man, February 26, 2009 2:22 PM
Brilliant holiday, would go back anytime.
Down side: no air con in rooms but was OK and we were there high season.
TC Sussex from Brighton, May 29, 2008 4:38 PM
Great hotel... lovely location... no wild drunken kids... or noisy clubs....
A great little bar up in the town on the corner.
We have stayed 4 times already. Off again in a weeks time.
Try to upgrade to a suite in the Mastines, it's worth the extra money: you get a T.V.
Clair from Southampton, April 5, 2008 10:53 PM
What can I say. Having never been abroad before this was a fantastic first time experience.
It was beautifully clean, the food was out of this world and a very friendly atmosphere in general. My youngest daughter even got to cook her own pancakes at breakfast with the chef.
Strongly recommend anyone to visit this hotel.
Ashleigh from Newcastle, April 3, 2008 1:16 PM
A think: Sol Mastines hotel is brilliant and calas de majorca is cool, the pools are great and the shops.
Sian Parry from Newport, South Wales, March 17, 2008 1:30 PM
A fab hotel, very clean. Staff very friendly. Views spectacular. Good entertainment facilities. Food good.
Two outdoor pools and one heated indoor pool. Rooms spacious easily fitting 4 beds and still not too crowded.
