Built in 1967 and renovated during 1987, the Sol Balmoral offers 310 rooms plus 48 self catering apartments distributed over 3 small annexes.
All rooms at the hotel come equipped with a ceiling fan and an en-suite bathroom with shower, telephone, satellite TV, safety deposit box and terrace, the majority with sea views. The most of the rooms at the Sol Balmoral are twin bedded, but there are some equipped with double bed. Hotel really nice, staff are really nice.
The food is really good, but there is no TV in the rooms, no mirror, not another sockets in room, no welcome pack.

We booked up expecting to be in the Sol Mastines Chihuahuas as it said on our booking form. Unfortunately nobody mentioned their little ugly brother where we were stuck.
We cannot find a good point about this hotel other that its closeness to the other two, where we spent all our time when awake. Shame because its a really nice area. Come on Sol spend some money and at least get it into the 21st century.

Just returned from a 7 night trip and stayed in teh Sol Balmoral Hotel.
Absolutely loved it! I was all inclusive and I would fully recommend this as there is a constant supply of freshly cooked food with lots of different options everyday, and drinks until midnight (after which all guests have to pay until the bar cloes at 1am).
This hotel is part of the Sol complex which means you have two main pools, as the Sol Mastines and Chihuahua's two pools a two minute walk away!!
The town is located down the road, and opposite the hotel is the nearest beach cove.
The staff were excellent, expecially the entertainment staff who run the childrens club and perform the night entertain.
Would definately go again!!!!

Just got back from staying at the Balmoral for a week.
Was worried after reading the reviews as took my 7 year old but what a shock. Tt was very clean, staff very nice, there was no trouble and the food was lovely, lots to choose from.
Would go back.

Simply awful.
Although the rooms were basic and clean, the hotel itself is very poor. The pool area was very rowdy and intimidating and the cleanliness was not the best. Cleaned tables and chairs myself before sitting down etc. Food was the usual average canteen style and staff miserable.
Only stayed 4 nights and was glad to leave. I know it's cheap but there are standards and this hotel fell very short of my standards.

We went here last year and really enjoyed it so we've booked again this year.
For the money I thought it was excellent value and I think this is what people should remember when complaining about outdated lounger chairs and the like.
As a veggie, there was always something for me, usually labelled and I only had to resort to the usual veggie backups a few times.
Lovely for kids, they made lots of friends. Entertainment was typical holiday hotel and we go on holiday to make the most of things in any case. Enjoy!

Everything about the holiday was great.
The staff that greeted us offered us orange juice while we checked in. They were so helpful for the 2 weeks we were there. They noticed my parents were also stopping there and put us next to each other, which was fantastic.
The food was brilliant. We had planned to eat out a few nights but the food was that good there was no need. There was something for everyone, I didn't think there would be so much choice and it was the same for every mealtime. The snack bar was fantastic also as they were constantly bringing more freshly cooked food out were supplies were running low.
The entertainment staff worked really hard to make sure everyone had a good time. If you wanted to get involved they were they to help if not they left you alone. The shows were well rehearsed and were even better on the outdoor stage, as for the first week they were inside but still very good.
The rooms were cleaned everyday and were spotless.
The reviews of some people are really strange and I can't understand what people expect. If you are expecting a 5* holiday, then book one. The holiday was amazing value for money and I wish we were still there. I would love to go back again in the near future and know my family would as well.
I only hope they have a slower song than Stach Stach when we go back.

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Balmoral. Hotel rooms basic but clean.
Was a bit disappointed that there was no television in rooms as stated in hotel facilities, food was excellent and staff were very obliging.
Pool area a bit over crowded but ample sunbeds elsewhere in the gardens. Entertainment was very low key but they did their best!!!
Overall had a good holiday.

What a load of crap, the worst hotel and staff.
All drinks are in plastic glass. The pool at the bottom of the hotel was dirty, cat shi... around pool. Pool-bar not open so you had to walk all the way to the top of the hotel for a drink and toilet.
If you leave early morning to return home you are unable to get a tea or coffee.
If I had known I would have gone canceled.
